You do not need the technical detail to use the product, but understanding the three pieces under the hood, the data lab, the waterfall, and execution, helps you trust the results and know what each step is doing for you.

The data lab

The data lab is where Landbase data is built, organized, and kept current. It is the reason the dataset is consistent and ready for go-to-market questions instead of a raw pile of records.

What happens there

  • Raw data from many sources is cleaned and matched into single, reliable profiles.
  • Values are mapped to a consistent structure, so a category means the same thing every time.
  • Datasets are versioned and tracked, so results can be reproduced and audited.

Because the data is shaped this way, your filters return consistent results and your lists are trustworthy. The same foundation powers custom datasets and SQL, which you will meet in The Ascent.

The waterfall

The waterfall is how Landbase finds the contact details that make a list usable, such as a verified work email or a phone number.

How it works

Rather than relying on a single source, Landbase checks multiple providers in order. When the first does not have a verified result, it moves to the next, and it keeps going until it finds one or runs out. Each result is verified before it is added to your list.

Why it matters

  • Coverage is higher, because more contacts come back with usable details.
  • Accuracy is better, since every result is verified before it reaches you.
  • Waste is lower, because you are not paying for or sending to bad data.
Tip
Phone numbers cost more to find than emails, so enrich phone only when you plan to call. You will practice enrichment hands-on in Base Camp.

Execution

Execution is the final step, where a finished, enriched list turns into real outreach and starts driving pipeline.

What execution looks like

  • Push the contacts into an email campaign.
  • Load them into a dialer for calls.
  • Send them to LinkedIn for social touches.
  • Hand the list to your CRM and existing tools.

Because building, enriching, and acting all live in one place, you can move from deciding who to reach to actually reaching them without exporting between tools.
