Hiring is one of the clearest signs of what a company is about to buy. A startup that posts its first VP of Sales, a team of SDRs or a GTM Engineer is about to add sellers, systems and tools, and the vendors who reach it early have an advantage. Landbase treats these postings as buying signals alongside funding, headcount growth and technology changes.
This page brings together ten go-to-market hiring signals tracked in Landbase job-posting data. Each links to a full ranking of ten companies showing that signal now, verified against careers pages, press coverage and funding announcements. Related rankings of the AI startups adding headcount fastest use the same company data.
Job postings show intent, not confirmed hires. Roles can be filled, paused or reposted, and several listings in these rankings were no longer live when they were checked. Each post says so where that was the case.
A first sales leader usually arrives once founders have proven a repeatable sale and raised enough to build a team. These listings often say the hire will report to the CEO and build the sales org from scratch.

First, the signals follow a sequence. Early-stage companies hire a first sales leader and founding AEs, growth-stage companies add SDR teams, GTM Engineers and RevOps, and later-stage companies build enablement, customer success, partnerships and new regions. Matching a pitch to that stage matters more than the signal alone.
Second, one role is often posted many times. SDR, partnership and customer success roles are frequently listed in every city or country a company sells into, so raw posting counts overstate hiring and distinct roles plus locations give a more accurate picture of where a company is expanding.
Third, AI companies appear across almost every signal. Several of the startups hiring first sales and marketing leaders also rank among the fastest-growing AI startups, and several are listed in Landbase’s city rankings of AI startups hiring fastest by city.
For GTM teams, hiring signals are most useful in combination: a new sales leader plus a recent round plus fast headcount growth is a stronger trigger than any one of them, and pairing them with data enrichment turns a signal into a contact list.
Every ranking in this series was built from Landbase job-posting data, combined with company enrichment for funding, size and 12-month headcount change.
Landbase’s web and CLI interfaces access the same account, datasets, and saved work.
For more complex requirements, the Advanced Dataset Creator supports filters, calculations, and custom output fields.
Landbase’s data infrastructure includes more than 800 million contacts and more than 40 million companies across more than 1,500 fields, with enrichment from more than 20 providers.
A hiring-signal workflow could, for example, find venture-backed companies that posted a first VP of Sales role in the last 30 days, raised a Series A or B in the past year and grew headcount by more than 50%, then return the CEO and the newly hired sales leader as contacts.
The Landbase CLI setup supports these workflows from a standard terminal and from AI coding environments including Claude Code and Codex.
A GTM hiring signal is a job posting that shows a company is building or changing its go-to-market team, such as a first VP of Sales, several SDR roles, a GTM Engineer or a sales leader for a new region. These postings often come before purchases of sales, marketing and data tools.
The series covers ten signals: first VP of Sales, founding account executives, SDR and BDR teams, GTM Engineers, RevOps leaders, sales enablement, first marketing leaders, customer success teams, partnerships and channel roles, and sales leaders in Europe.
They show intent rather than confirmed hires. Roles can be filled or withdrawn and the same role is often posted in many locations, so these rankings count distinct roles where possible and verify each company against its careers page.
Sales and marketing teams selling to go-to-market teams: data, enrichment, sequencing, CRM, enablement, recruiting, compliance and services vendors. The right signal depends on what is being sold and at which company stage.
Landbase can save job-posting filters as reusable datasets, combine them with funding, headcount growth and technology data, and return company and contact records through web and CLI workflows.
Tool and strategies modern teams need to help their companies grow.
