The GTM Engineer has moved from a niche title to a standard hire at growth-stage software companies. Onfire's analysis of GTM Engineer job postings found that postings grew 205% year over year and that 66% of the roles it reviewed named Clay.
A GTM Engineer builds the systems behind pipeline: Clay enrichment, signal-based scoring, automated outbound, CRM routing and AI agents that research accounts. A company opening this role is about to choose data, enrichment and automation vendors, which makes it one of the more direct buying signals for vendors that sell GTM infrastructure.
This list ranks venture-backed companies that posted a GTM Engineer role in the 90 days before this analysis by their 12-month headcount growth, then checks each against public sources.
Every company on the list had to meet four criteria:
Most companies posted a single GTM Engineer role, so posting counts could not separate them. The ranking instead orders companies showing the signal by 12-month headcount growth in Landbase data. Companies already profiled in other Landbase rankings, such as Bobyard, depthfirst and LangChain, were set aside.
Postings measure open requisitions in Landbase's job-posting index over 90 days. Roles can be reposted or filled and removed, and headcount growth comes from professional-profile data that can differ from company figures. The signal shows hiring intent, not a confirmed hire.

Category: AI asset intelligence for private markets and lenders
Hypha sells an AI-native platform that investors and lenders use to monitor assets, manage portfolio risk and make lending and investment decisions faster.
Landbase recorded a GTM Engineer posting from Hypha in late September 2026. The company's Ashby job board showed no open roles at the time of writing, so the requisition may have been filled or paused.
Hypha emerged from stealth with a $50 million seed round led by TriEdge Investments and said it would use the capital to expand its engineering, go-to-market, design and marketing teams and its R&D presence in Tel Aviv.
Selling into private credit and real estate needs data on lenders, funds and owners. Financial-services contact data, enrichment and CRM setup vendors have an opening.

Baseten sells an inference platform that AI companies use to deploy and run models in production.
Baseten's GTM Engineer role is based in New York and pays $175,000 to $200,000. A GTM Systems Manager posting lists Salesforce, Outreach, Clay and Gong in the stack.
Baseten announced a $1.5 billion Series F at a $13 billion valuation. The company said revenue grew 20 times over the prior year.
With a mature stack already in place, the opening is for AI-native GTM tools and agent infrastructure rather than basic enrichment.

Fireworks AI sells a platform for building, tuning and serving AI models on open-weight models.
Fireworks has two GTM Engineer requisitions open, one for revenue systems in San Francisco and one for marketing and SDR systems in San Mateo. A separate Head of GTM Engineering & Systems posting says the GTM team is growing 10 times, from roughly 50 to more than 300 people, and names Clay, Harmonic and Sumble in its enrichment layer.
Fireworks closed a $1.505 billion Series D at a $17.5 billion post-money valuation. The company said it had passed $1 billion in annualized revenue run rate, five times the prior year.

Langdock's GTM Engineer role sits in the Sales & Partnerships team in Berlin. The listing describes "a builder role, not a CRM administration role" that combines account data, buying signals and AI research to find companies ready for an AI rollout.
In June 2026, Deutsche Startups reported that Visionaries Club partner Judith Dada was joining as co-CEO and that Langdock said its annual recurring revenue had reached $40 million. One profile reports a later Series A, but it could not be confirmed.

Latest round: $80 million Series B-2, March 2026, led by Founders Fund
HQ: Los Angeles, California (Landbase lists Austin, Texas)
Category: Hardware test and evaluation software
Nominal sells software for managing hardware test data to teams building aircraft, satellites, autonomous vehicles and defense systems.
Landbase recorded GTM Engineer postings from Nominal in early August 2026, listed three times for one role. The role is not on the current careers page, which carries a Senior GTM Recruiter role in Los Angeles and Austin.
Nominal raised an $80 million Series B-2 at a $1 billion valuation. The company reported roughly sevenfold revenue growth over the prior year.
Selling into aerospace and defense requires data on technical buyers across primes and startups.
First, GTM Engineer hiring is usually a single hire. Of the 89 companies in the candidate pool, 85 posted one distinct GTM Engineer title. Fireworks AI, with two engineers and a head of GTM Engineering, is the exception. Several companies, including Hypha, TextYess, Chamelio and Nominal, had already removed the posting.
Second, the role is concentrated in AI-native companies and in New York. Every company on this list sells an AI product or AI infrastructure. In the wider pool, 65 of 89 companies are U.S.-headquartered and 27 are based in New York, more than in San Francisco.
Third, the job descriptions converge on the same stack. Clay appears in the Baseten, Fireworks and DualEntry listings, alongside HubSpot or Salesforce, sequencing tools and, increasingly, Claude Code and in-house AI agents. Most postings in the pool appeared between August and late September 2026, often within weeks of a funding round.
For GTM teams, a GTM Engineer posting is more useful when paired with funding, SDR hiring, leadership changes and data enrichment signals than when read on its own. Related Landbase rankings cover companies hiring the most SDRs and AI startups adding headcount fastest.
All ten go-to-market hiring signals in this series are collected in GTM Hiring Signals to Watch in 2026.
The ranking in this article was built from Landbase job-posting data. A search found companies with GTM Engineer postings over 90 days, filtered them by employee count and funding, sorted them by 12-month headcount change, and each company was then checked against public sources.
Landbase's web and CLI interfaces access the same account, datasets, and saved work.
For more complex requirements, the Advanced Dataset Creator supports filters, calculations, and custom output fields.
Landbase's data infrastructure includes more than 800 million contacts and more than 40 million companies across more than 1,500 fields, with enrichment from more than 20 providers.
A GTM Engineer workflow could, for example, find companies that posted a GTM Engineer or RevOps role in the last 30 days, raised a Series A or B in the past year, and use Clay or HubSpot, then return the contact details of the head of growth or revenue operations who will manage the hire.
The Landbase CLI setup supports these workflows from a standard terminal and from AI coding environments including Claude Code and Codex.
Among venture-backed companies with 20 to 2,000 employees that posted a GTM Engineer role in the last 90 days, Hypha, Baseten, Avoca, TextYess and Fireworks AI had the fastest 12-month headcount growth in Landbase data, followed by Langdock, DualEntry, hosted·ai, Chamelio and Nominal.
It usually means the company is building or rebuilding its outbound and revenue systems, including data sources, enrichment, scoring, sequencing and AI automation. Those decisions bring new tool purchases and vendor reviews.
They show intent, not confirmed hires. Several roles on this list were filled or removed within weeks, and one requisition can be posted more than once, so postings work best combined with funding and headcount data.
Vendors of B2B contact and company data, enrichment platforms, sales engagement and email infrastructure, workflow automation, intent and signal data, and AI agents for research and outreach.
Teams can monitor job postings by title over a set window and combine them with funding, headcount growth and technology data. Landbase supports this through job-posting data, enrichment, structured datasets and web and CLI workflows.
Tool and strategies modern teams need to help their companies grow.
