How it works
Give it one or more industries and it returns related ones from the same semantic cluster. “Software Development” might surface “IT Services and IT Consulting,” “Computer Software,” and “Information Technology & Services” — categories that contain your target companies but use different labels. The clusters are pre-computed using semantic similarity across Landbase’s industry taxonomy. When you provide multiple input industries, results are balanced across all of them using round-robin selection to ensure even coverage. When to use it
Useful early in a workflow when you’re defining targeting criteria and want to make sure you’re not leaving out an entire segment because it’s filed under a different industry name. How it differs from Discover Related Industries
- Expand Industries accepts multiple industries and returns a capped, balanced list (default 5, max 20). Best for broadening targeting across several starting industries.
- Discover Related Industries accepts a single industry and returns the entire cluster. Best when you want to see the complete landscape.
