Swedish AI startups raised €454 million between January and October 2025, more than three times the €124 million raised in all of 2024, according to Alice Labs' State of AI Sweden report. The same report finds that Stockholm is home to more than half of Sweden's AI startups.
Much of that capital has gone to a small group of Stockholm companies that are hiring quickly and expanding abroad. This post is part of Landbase's broader ranking of AI startups adding headcount fastest.
This list ranks venture-backed, AI-native startups headquartered in Stockholm by 12-month headcount growth in Landbase data, then checks each company's funding and operating evidence against public sources.
The starting pool was software and AI companies headquartered in the Stockholm area, founded in 2019 or later, with at least 30 employees.
Every company on the list had to meet four criteria:
Headcount growth is calculated from professional-profile data and can differ from company-reported figures, particularly for companies with contractors or distributed teams. Funding, valuation, and revenue figures below come from company announcements and press coverage rather than headcount data. Funding alone does not establish growth, so it is treated as one of several company buying signals.
CEO: Niklas Lindgren

The August 2026 round came from an undisclosed European venture fund and existing investors. It followed a round of about €3 million in 2025. Klarna co-founder Victor Jacobsson is among its named angel investors.
Aloi is the second legal AI company on this list, which suggests Legora's growth is drawing talent and capital into the category in Stockholm.
CEO: Patrik Liu Tran
Latest round: $30 million Series A, March 2026
12-month headcount growth: +20%
Category: Agentic data management
Validio builds an agentic data management platform that automates data observability, quality monitoring, lineage, and cataloging for enterprise data teams.
Patrik Liu Tran founded the company in 2019, which makes it the oldest company on this list.

Plural led the $30 million Series A, with existing investors Lakestar and J12 participating. Total funding was reported at $47 million.
Validio sells to enterprises whose AI deployments depend on reliable data, a need that tends to grow as AI moves into production.
Several patterns repeat.
First, Stockholm's AI startups are mostly vertical and B2B. Legora and Aloi serve lawyers, Endra serves building engineers, Encube serves manufacturers, Atlar serves finance teams, and Intric serves public agencies. Lovable is the main horizontal product, and QA.tech and Validio sell to software and data teams.
Second, capital is concentrated. Legora and Lovable each raised rounds of $400 million or more in 2026, while most other companies on the list have raised less than $50 million in total. Endra is the main exception, with about $74 million raised in 12 months.
Third, the ecosystem is feeding itself. Lovable is a customer of both Atlar and QA.tech, Aloi's founder came from a Nordic law firm that is now its customer, and Klarna and Skype alumni appear among founders and angels. Local investors such as Norrsken VC, byFounders, and Kinnevik invest alongside US funds.
For GTM teams, these companies are hiring quickly and expanding into the US and UK. That combination is more useful when paired with hiring, leadership, technology, and data enrichment signals than when funding is viewed on its own. Teams comparing cities can review Landbase's ranking of AI startups hiring fastest by city and the list of Berlin AI startups hiring fastest. Category views are available in the rankings of legal AI startups hiring fastest and AI construction startups hiring fastest.
The ranking in this article was built with Landbase. A natural-language search identified software and AI companies headquartered in Stockholm, an enrichment step added founding year, headquarters city, and 12-month headcount change, and the results were filtered and sorted into a structured dataset.
Landbase's web and CLI interfaces access the same account, datasets, and saved work.
For more complex requirements, the Advanced Dataset Creator supports filters, calculations, and custom output fields.
Landbase's data infrastructure includes more than 800 million contacts and more than 40 million companies across more than 1,500 fields, with enrichment from more than 20 providers.
A Stockholm workflow could, for example, identify AI startups headquartered in Sweden that raised a seed or Series A round in the past year, grew headcount by more than 50%, and recently opened a US office or hired a US sales leader.
The Landbase CLI setup supports these workflows from a standard terminal and from AI coding environments including Claude Code and Codex.
Based on 12-month headcount growth in Landbase data, the fastest-growing venture-backed AI startups headquartered in Stockholm include Endra, Legora, Lovable, Intric, and Encube, followed by Rerun, Atlar, QA.tech, Aloi, and Validio.
Endra recorded the highest 12-month headcount growth among the companies that met this list's criteria, at more than 550%. Legora followed at more than 450%, and Lovable at more than 200%.
Stockholm combines experienced software operators, including alumni of Klarna and Skype who appear among the founders on this list, with active local investors. Legora and Lovable have also drawn international capital to the city, and Swedish AI startup funding more than tripled in 2025.
Not on its own. Headcount data can differ from company figures, and fast hiring does not guarantee revenue growth. This list therefore pairs headcount growth with disclosed funding, revenue, customer, and valuation evidence wherever it is available.
Teams can start with a geography and category definition, then filter by headcount growth, funding stage, recent rounds, target buyer, and hiring activity. Landbase can combine these criteria into reusable datasets and return company and contact information through web and CLI workflows.
Tool and strategies modern teams need to help their companies grow.
