# Use Landbase CLI in Claude Code and Codex

Use Claude Code and Codex to turn a goal into Landbase CLI commands, inspect structured results, and build follow-up workflows. This page covers agent usage; the canonical CLI installation and authentication instructions live in [Install Landbase CLI](https://www.landbase.com/docs/install.md).

Need to install first? Follow [Install Landbase CLI](https://www.landbase.com/docs/install.md), including its Claude Code or Codex installation prompt. Want a tour of the command surface before you start building? Read [What can you do with the CLI?](https://www.landbase.com/docs/guides/cli/what-can-you-do-with-the-cli.md).

## Ask an agent for an outcome

Once the CLI is installed and authenticated, ask the agent to complete a concrete task:

```text theme={null}
Using the Landbase CLI, find AI startups in London, save the results as a CSV, and summarize the main patterns.
```

The agent can choose the command sequence, inspect JSON output, and use other local tools to analyze or visualize the results. For the available commands and outcomes, see [What can you do with the CLI?](https://www.landbase.com/docs/guides/cli/what-can-you-do-with-the-cli.md).

## Claude Code and Codex tips

1. **Control command permissions.** Claude Code may ask before running CLI commands. Only if you are comfortable with that access, ask it to auto-approve `landbase-cli*` in your user settings.

2. **Build your own visualisation and table.**

   ```text theme={null}
   Can you show the data in a front-end app using React and a TanStack table.
   ```

3. **Connect with other services.** To interact with another service, give the agent its API documentation or use that service's CLI alongside Landbase CLI.
